OWNERSHIP RIGHTS & LISCENCES
Cover Designs by Joelina grants the client an exclusive license to use the final book cover design for their book once full payment is settled and received.
The license includes:
- digital book rights
- printing rights
- promotional use
Cover Designs by Joelina retains the right to use the final book cover designs on any social media for marketing purposes.
Cover Designs by Joelina may not remake and/or (re)-sell the client's cover design unless the client cancels their booking before final payment is due, and a design has already been made.
In case the indie book gets picked up by a publisher, the client agrees to inform their publisher to purchase a distribution license from Cover Designs by Joelina.
No publisher may use the cover design without Cover Designs by Joelina's written consent and without acquiring a license beforehand.
The client agrees to abide by the terms of any license agreement of the image purchased by Cover Designs by Joelina to use in their book cover design.
All materials provided by the client must be legally owned and fully licensed. In any case of copyright or permission infringement action arising from material provided by the client, the client must protect and defend Cover Designs by Joelina and agrees not to hold Cover Designs by Joelina responsible. The client will be legally and financially responsible for infringement cases.
Cover Designs by Joelina distances herself from AI-generated materials. No design will ever include AI materials.
CREDITS
The client is required to list Cover Designs by Joelina in the book credits in digital and printed copies.

TIMELINES
CUSTOM DESIGNS
Ensure you book your spot at least 2-4 months ahead of your book's (cover) release day.
The waiting time for the initial design will be 7-14 business days.
Minor revisions require 1-4 days to be completed.
Major revisions require 5-8 days to be completed.
PREMADE DESIGNS
Depending on the changes that have to be made, please allow 5-9 days.
ILLUSTRATED COVERS
The waiting time for the rough sketch will be 1-7 days.
Flat colors will be done within 3-5 days upon sketch approval.
Finishing the illustration will be done within 7-14 days.
Adding text will be done within 1-4 days.
Maximum total of 30 days. (Excluding the wait for any other revisions after the final product has been presented. Please allow another 1-7 days for those. Also excluding any late-response times)
Please allow 1-5 days for adjusting the cover design once Cover Designs by Joelina receives the final page number of your book.
CHANGES AFTER APPROVAL
The client understands that the cover MAY NOT be altered by anyone except Cover Designs by Joelina.
The client also understands that additional charges may occur for any additional alterations after approval and/or final files are sent.
Changes after the final files are sent will begin at 40€ / $43 and may increase with the number of files that need to be changed.
LIABILTY
Cover Designs by Joelina is not liable for damages of any kind, including loss of revenues, profits, business, reputation, or data, in any way related to her services.
Cover Designs by Joelina is not responsible for any claim, loss, or injury based on errors or inaccuracies appearing on her site or in her clients' written documents once the cover has been approved.
In case Cover Designs by Joelina takes longer to complete the project than indicated, the client will be contacted via email or through their preferred social media in order to agree upon a new completion date.
CODE OF FAIR PRACTICE
Cover Designs by Joelina acknowledges that the work prepared is an original creation and has not been previously published.
The work prepared does not contain libelous, AI, scandalous, or unlawful matter.
PAYMENT
CUSTOM DESIGNS
All payments are made through PayPal.
There will be a non-refundable 50% downpayment of the total at the time of booking.
The remaining 50% will be invoiced once the client is satisfied with the cover design.
Upon receiving of the final payment, Cover Designs by Joelina will deliver all files to the client.
NO files will be sent until payment is made in full.
Final payment is due within 7 days of the final invoice being sent. A 5% late fee will be added for each additional week that payment isn't made.
If an invoice is not paid for more than 90 days, an additional 100€ / $109 will be applied.
Cover Designs by Joelina reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or sell any unpaid work.
PREMADE DESIGNS
All invoices must be paid in full upfront.
The invoice must be paid within two weeks of showing interest in the cover.
Premade sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.
Cover Designs by Joelina reserves the right to resell the design should the client fail to fulfill their payment within fourteen days unless agreed upon otherwise.
RUSH ORDER REQUEST
OBJECT COVER
Cover Designs by Joelina can occasionally fit a rush project into her schedule.
A rush project, with less than a week turnaround, will be a 100€ / $109 added fee.
A rush project, with a two-week turnaround, will be an extra 70€ / $76.
ILLUSTRATED COVER
A rush project for an illustrated project, with less than a week turnaround, will be a 200€ / $218 added fee.
A rush project for an illustrated project, with a two-week turnaround, will be an extra 100€ / $109.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
CUSTOM DESIGNS
A custom booking may be canceled by either party for any reason without prior notice.
The client understands that the 50% deposit cannot be refunded once payment is made.
PREMADE DESIGNS
Premade Designs are final. There are no refunds or cancellations.
Upon request, and with Cover Designs by Joelina's written consent, the client may resell the cover.
REVISIONS & FEES
CUSTOM DESIGNS
The client may request up to five revisions free of charge.
If the client requests more than five, an additional fee of 5€ / $5.50 for each additional change will occur.
This may include, but may not be limited to:
- font changes
- text changes of any kind
- color changes
- removal of items
- addition of items
- image mood changes
PREMADE DESIGNS
Cover Designs by Joelina allows modifications to the premade designs free of charge.
Modifications include:
- color changes
- text changes of any kind
- font changes
- removal of items
- addition of up to three items
Other modifications to the premade cover will incur an additional fee.
ILLUSTRATED DESIGNS
PROOF
During the proof stage, the client may request up to five revisions of the pose, clothes, hair
(including texture and style), anatomy, and
background free of charge.
The client will be charged an additional 5€ / $5.50 per each extra change.
COLOR
Once flat colors have been added, the client may request up to five revisions of color, makeup, and minor pose adjustments free of charge.
The client will be charged an additional 5€ / $5.50 per each extra change.
ACCEPTION OF TERMS
Both the client and Cover Designs by Joelina acknowledge acceptance of these terms.
By acknowledging this contract, the client agrees to hold Cover Designs by Joelina entirely free from any liability, including financial.
